Young Entrepreneur In Cyprus | The MoneyLove Manifesto!

Hello Everyone,

Recently you would of noticed I haven’t been online so much, that is because of quite a few reasons which I will cover below, however there is good news, I am back!

First a Quote From Jerry Gillies

“People who make money often make mistakes, and even have major setbacks, but they believe they will eventually prosper, and they see every setback as a lesson to be applied in their move towards success”

More from Jerry later in this post.

Young Entrepreneur In Cyprus

Last week I got back from a 14 day break in Cyprus where I football (soccer) trained each day with my friend Ali who plays professionally out there. Cyprus is a very interesting place, where it seems everyone is just after money. When you go out in the evening near where we stayed ( Napa ) is a big clubbing and bar town, every place had at least 3 or 4 promoters trying to give you a deal to get you into that club. These promoters worked on commission, 1 euro per person they brought in. From a business point of view, this is great, however when it started it must of made a big difference to the first bar that did it, now every place does it and the effects aren’t as big as they would of been. After speaking to a promoter, it was obvious some did a lot better then others, one lady didn’t have high exceptions and told me she could live out there for 100 euro a week.

Another interesting business tactic they used out in Cyprus was the renting of Scooters and Quad Bikes. I had just rented a jet ski which cost 50 euros ($71) for 15 minutes, which is always super fun so if you haven’t done it yet, try to get on one! After spending that amount of money for a 15 minute ride, I expected renting a quad bike would be quite expensive as well. When I arrived they told me it was 45 euro a day to rent a quad bike, I jumped at the chance and enjoyed 24 hours of offroading and generally just having fun! When I returned the vehicle, they guy didn’t seem to happy to see me as he did when he rented it to me, he did a big check over the quad bike and luckily there was nothing wrong with it. It was obvious now to me that they didn’t make there money on the 45 euro rental but the 1000 euro charge if you break it. I did spot a few fights kick off when English people where getting ripped off when returning the vehicles.

Just sitting, enjoying the view of Cyprus!

Speaking at Events

Last weekend I was invited to speak at Tomorrowsweb Conference, which was mainly for young internet entrepreneurs which was great because I haven’t really gone to many events just for young people. I spoke about Making Money Blogging which a lot of people told me they really enjoyed which was good to hear. I also got the opportunity to meet Josh Buckley who I interviewed in 2007 and who also won the first competition on Retireat21 for the best idea which he then later sold on for high five figures at 15 years old.

I can also let you know I have been invited to speak at Wordcamp Romania, although I haven’t confirmed if I am going yet because I am going to America later that week as a guest of my dad’s to Yanik Silvers mastermind group. I also may be speaking at an event my friend Kaiser is holding in Atlantic City next March and then possibly be on another panel at Ryan Lee’s event the following week. Will be a busy month as I believe Yanik Silver has his Underground seminar that month as well.

Website Updates and News

Recently I have been working hard on WebDesignDev, which is a web design website I have in my network of websites. Earlier in the year it was doing around 28,000 visitors a month, looking at recent stats we have brought it up to 200,000 visitors monthly. A lot of this is down to my friend Andy who has been blogging most week days with great articles for web designers and web developers so definitely make sure to check them out if your into that sort of thing. We have also just released a very cool web design tutorial showing how we design Fiked.com ~ One of my fun projects. Just to give you a little teaser, I have a little preview of the new WebDesignDev design below, let me know what you think.

I have also decided to brand our network and form it into a company, I have decided to use the name “Why Compete” which I bought from a young entrepreneur called Danny Cooper. The idea behind the name isn’t to look arrogant but to set the standard of high value content and when we say high value, we mean the best, so why bother competing with us? icon wink Young Entrepreneur In Cyprus | The MoneyLove Manifesto!

What’s To Come

In the following weeks we have lined up several great interviews. One of the interviews I am most excited about is the opportunity to talk with one of my Fathers mentors – a gentleman called Jerry Gillies. I won’t say very much here, but Jerry has lived a very interesting life and was the author of a book called MONEYLOVE back in the 70′s which sold over 2 Million copies. This is well before movies like THE SECRET and all this Law Of Attraction stuff we hear so much of these days. My father credits Jerry with being one of the greatest influences in breaking through to abundant thinking and financial freedom. Jerry is very shortly releasing a MoneyLove update called “The Moneylove Manifesto“– I have seen a draft and it is amazing. What is more this Manifesto is FREE and IncomeDiary will be one of the first websites you can register to get a copy of it.

To give you a Taste of Jerry and MoneyLove Manifesto here are some quotes from Jerry:

“Prosperity Consciousness is emotion, not a pile of stuff”

“Your subconscious mind is the most obedient servant you could ever employ”

“The first step in successful harvesting of the Internet is knowing the difference
between a healthy plant and a cow patty”

I do love Jerry’s sense of humor icon wink Young Entrepreneur In Cyprus | The MoneyLove Manifesto!

Hi Michael, I'm liking the name 'Why Compete' - any inspiration from Fat Boy Slim's Greatest Hits album 'Why try harder?'

Looks like a lovely view. Always good to explore the outdoors - there is life away from a screen. The speaking looks like a challenge. Did you meet Mark Anastasi whilst you were there? Elena

Hey Chad, Great to be back, although guest blog posts can be great, I don't really like them so much as people don't have the same vision and passion as me so there posts don't provide so much value. Michael

Where abouts in Cyprus did you stay? North or South? I actually have a property in the North; Cyprus is a lovely place ...and you can get huge properties there for nothing! :)

Hey, In the South side near Napa, I liked the North a lot but I hear they are having a lot of problems with properties in the North because of the war there a few years back. Michael
