Hi Michael,

I've been following your blog recently and have been very much inspired. I honestly didn't know that this world existed. Just to think I've been blogging for almost a year now and have only earned $3.59! I'm sad because SO much time has passed but I AM HUNGRY to succeed. I've tried looking up information on Yanik Silver's Seminar, but have not found it. Does he have scholarships for females ages 13-26? I'm 25 and although I'm a late comer and have had PLENTY of setbacks.....I would love to attend this seminar. I don't need the motivation...I need the inspiration.

I love this, 'If you are not willing to put in the work, your fairy tale bubbles will burst as soon as you stop hustling'. Sounds like something Gary Vaynerchuk would say!

I've been working a lot of hours on building my blog and the learning behind it (marketing, copywriting, design, technology, etc), while keeping up with my day job. It's often much easier to watch the TV or play Wii (which are important to relax yourself), but it all comes down to working your butt off and keeping your eyes on the prize like what Maren said. There's no quick fix, period.

Michael, thanks for the great advice and updates!

While everybody's email Inboxes are full of the latest 'shortcuts' to make a living with a blog or sites generally ( and, to my shame, I still sometimes fall into the latest 'fad') It's the Tortoise who beat the Hare in the old childrens tale by being single-minded and who doggedly persevered in reaching his goal.

The Hare of course was continually running here and there and getting sidetracked.

So yes it's hard work ( but nothing wrong with that if you enjoy it) and I agree with @Maren Kate. My family think I do nothing all day - even when they see the checks I cash!

Awesome post, very true about each point. I have been putting in 10 hour days on my blog & with my start up and it can get frustrating, especially when people call what I do non-work. But your right, you have to keep you eye on the prize & hustle if you want to get successful :)

Cheers!

Hey Michael - very cool about the scholarship thing you're doing. I'm sure it will make a huge difference in a lot of people's lives! Regarding earning a full time living, my friend alan recently wrote a cool post about that on his blog wuup.co.uk. I think that a lot of people give up too soon in the blogging world, b/c it does take a lot of time for many to start earning a living from a blog. I think a lot of people expect it to work overnight.

"If you are not willing to put in the work, your fairy tale bubbles will burst as soon as you stop hustling"....
Very True.

Hi Michael,

You hit the nail on the head in referring to Ryan Lee doing continuity the correct way. (See ryanlee.com) Internet Marketers that offer forced continuity to customers have to remember in the long run they will lose good customers. Good luck Michael with the Young Entrepreneurs Scholarship, your the right person to help these young rising internet entrepreneurs.

Check out my website where anyone can access the best internet marketing websites on all 1 website.

Sincerely,

Russell Handy

Great Post Michael, I must come to your blog at least 5 times a week! I really hope I get the scholarship because it will help my business so much.

You were the inspiration that made me start. Thank You.

I totally agree with everything you say, it's all about providing excellent value first - moving the free line.

As Tony Robbins says, 'he who adds the most value wins'

Its all about being a value creator.
Focus on creating that quality content and the money will follow!

The amount of money you make is a direct reflection of 2 things

1) Your value to the world
2) How many people experience your value
