Alvin Phang Interview – Earn Money While You Sleep With Blogging

Posted on 21. Mar, 2009 by Michael in Blogging

Could you describe what you do and how you earn your living Alvin?

Sure thing, I am currently a full time blogger in Singapore and have been blogging since Oct 2006. My earnings are mainly from blog reviews, affiliate marketing, blog advertisements.

You are currently living what I call the Internet Lifestyle, what does the Internet Lifestyle mean to you?

Great question… it’s to give one the ability to sleep anytime of the day and wake up anytime of the day without worrying if you are able to make money online. Basically in short, make money while you are enjoying yourself.

I understand you recently got married! By having a blog, did that allow you to still earn money when you take time off work?

Yes of course it can, because the wonderful part about blogging is you can program your blog post to be automatically set to be publish at set times when you are away and your readers or customer will not realized you were away at the 1st place. I remember once, I was away for a holiday trip in Taiwan for 8 days and during the entire trip I did nothing but simply just enjoy myself but came back earning close to $4,000! It’s truly automatic in some sense as you can pre-program your blog to do stuff on its own.

How much have you earned from blogging to date and what’s your top tip for new bloggers trying to earn money from their blog?

I would say I have earn close to US$140,000+ Net Profit to date from blogging, my top tip for new bloggers is keep on updating your blog daily! The more content you create the more traffic you will get from search engines. People often say content is king but for me Knowledge is king, content comes later but having said that both would be useless still without marketing. Writing interesting content is actually not that hard, once you open your heart to your readers you would get readers to your blog. My tip for bloggers is always stay honest and be willing to share your knowledge with others as this will give you more process in the near future.

You are the author of “Atomic Blogging” one of the worlds top selling eBooks for bloggers who want to make more money online. Would you like to tell us more about how this could help us bloggers.

Atomic Blogging was first created way back un June 2007 and now since has upgraded to the latest version 3.0 which just launched in March 2009. The entire system was actually designed and tested based on my truth real experience when I was blogging @ www.GatherSuccess.com which began real successful online today. I am currently a trainer myself and I also teach in school to lectures and students, I decided to take my knowledge in blogging and wrote a guide of more then 150 with screen shots in them. With simple step-by-step instructions, this will help new bloggers get their blog setup almost in minutes just by following the simple steps with screenshots provided. Once the system is setup, there are also a Wordpress theme and plugin that bloggers can installed into their Wordpress blog and immediately start blogging using the system.

atomicblogging

To further enchanced advanced bloggers, included are also 4 chapters of advanced traffic tactics that I have personally used them before which one of that got in over 300 comments from one blog post! I realized sometimes giving text tutorials were not enough, so I also included videos tutorials to guide them along for the installation process too. Overall I am happy to say then all my customers love the product and most of them doubled or even triple their traffic.

Wow you certainly have gone out of your way to provide such great value! Where do you think most bloggers go wrong?

I strongly believe in giving value and great customer service and that’s why I had so many raving reviews from everyone. The part where bloggers always go wrong at most times is they are PLAIN LAZY! They got very excited into blogging maybe for the 1st or 2nd week and may later lead on to another thing just because they thought it was better and easier… and advice to everyone is NEVER TAKE THE EASY WAY OUT. It will always end up you being more disappointed then you ever started at first. Commom signs of laziness would be, blog is not updated with content, no marketing is done on the blog, got distracted by something else and the list goes on….

For wanna-be bloggers, you got to love blogging in order to blog. That’s because you will be required to update your blog everyday as that is what all professional bloggers do.

If you could go back in a time machine to the time when you were just getting started, what advice would you give yourself regarding making money online?

I would have told myself earlier to generate a list of subscribers earlier! That’s because I only started list building after 6 months of marketing online!

What is the best advice you have ever been given?

this advice actually came from my dad actually, which he said to me ” What Ever You Do, Always Do It Different From Everyone Else And Be Unique”

And he also quoted “Never Give Up too”

What would you say is the biggest single reason for your success?

My biggest single reason for my success is that I am the sole bread winner of my family so I have no choice but to be successful in order to take care of my family.

If you were offered twice the amount of money you earn now to work a 9 – 5 job for “The Man”, would you take it and why?

OF COURSE NOT! I will never do it even if I am broke! That’s because I treasure and love the freedom of being your own boss – Why let others earn more when you can earn everything on your own and be happy about it

Thanks very much for the interview, Have you any plans (personal or business) that you can share with us about your future plans / goals / lifetime goals?

My goal for this year is to be a millionaire by the end of this year and my future plans is to be able to generate a 5 to 6 figure income monthly without doing a single thing. I know it’s not impossible because when there is a will there is always a way… advice to others always dream and think big because there is nothing wrong with it!
